Lots and serials, with their tree
Traceability is not an extra column: for a lot the system builds the upstream and downstream tree — what it came from and what it went into. The recall list comes out of that, and the recall list is the only thing that matters on the day you need it.
Genealogy, lot statuses and serials live alongside receipts and deliveries, not in a parallel register.
Wastage norms, as a visible nomenclature
The statutory wastage norms are listed as data rather than hidden inside the calculation engine. They matter because the norm decides how much of a loss is deductible and how much triggers VAT self-collection — a tax consequence that cuts both ways.
You can see which norm would apply to a write-off before making it, and record one your auditor has agreed.
Deposit-return, with action separated from reporting
There is the collection report, which only reads, and the working screen, where things happen: which documents have no deposit assessed yet, recording counter refunds, raising the payment order and issuing the self-invoice to the scheme operator.
Custody and consignment, off balance sheet
Goods held in custody are tracked off balance sheet, with their own stock report. This is someone else's goods sitting on your premises — mixing them into your own stock is a balance-sheet error, not a bookkeeping preference.
Production, with its cost
Production orders, disassembly, equivalences and per-order costing are part of the same module. Reservations, backorders and replenishment look at the same stock.
Valuation audit, without a "fix everything" button
One screen compares what each issue would have cost under a chronologically correct FIFO replay against what was actually recorded. It is report-only: there is no bulk fix, because correcting a posted cost is a reversal plus a repost, per finding, on explicit confirmation, in an open period.
Silently rewriting history would mutate cost of goods sold in periods whose VAT has already been filed.
Worth knowing
Inventory is where accounting and operations most often disagree. Here they cannot, because the stock movement and the ledger entry are the same operation, not two that ought to match.
